The Dickinsonian dinner was held tonight. Recipes based on the book A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The dinner was fantastic!!! George Formaro and his team did an incredible job.

Great menu. Our waitress was ever so pleasant and attentive. The overall vibe was real cool. It was a bit noisy though.

I would have given it 5 stars but, on our last visit, our server was less than interested in our experience there. The food was fantastic as always. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic. It definitely is fun and casual French dining.

the french toast is life changing. best part of an all around amazing meal at a unique restaurant with great decor.other notable mentions: the cherry sundae, poutine, and hanger steak (not pictured)the shellfish plate was perfect for our group of 7 - the lemony mussels were my absolute favorite! would definitely come back.

Very busy, very loud due to Tuesday all night happy hour but we were very well taken care of by Clint. Friendly, but not overly so. Effecient and professional.

Trendier location than the old one, but maybe a step down in elegance. Menu is still classic, and the bar is great. Best burgers in town.

The meals and service were beyond our expectations. We really enjoyed the environment of this spot. Wonderful restaurant to take my family out for dinner.

Alexa was a great waitress. Someone in our party couldn't have alcohol in their food and she went above and beyond to make sure it didn't. The food was excellent. The Scallops are great. We will be going back.

The service, the food, and the price were all great. Went with my sister, her husband, my niece, my nephew, my cousin, and my girlfriend. We all enjoyed the meal. When they brought out the appetizer, my girlfriend mentioned how she wished she picked a different side; the staff overheard and changed it for her. This spot is great for savory and sweet. I also liked the movie Django Unchained. Ha... if youΓ’β¬β’re in Des Moines, go to Django!

French food with Midwest portions & service. This was my first actual French food experience, and I was quite impressed. The wait staff help everyone feel comfortable and welcome and answered all my many questions. It made for an amazing Birthday celebration!

The front desk staff were so polite. We got a seat at the bar and were welcomed by Shaun. He was one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered. Not only did he recommend his favorite app (calamari) but he made sure that we were taken care of. Everyone at the bar area deserves a raise. I even got a lesson on oysters. The young lady in the back answered all of our questions. I am so happy with our experience. Please come visit this restaurant.

Great restaurant with nice Italian options. Expansive wine list including well known Oregon labels. Excellent service and friendly staff.

We enjoyed fabulous appetizers and main dishes. Generous portions all around. We sat at the elevated tables near the bar since we hadn't made reservations. Shane at the bar doubled as our waiter. He was phenomenal - really knew his stuff! He made recommendations that were spot on for our pallets, both in regard to the menu and beverages. Plus he was a lot of fun! We will definitely be back!

Last Sunday, I was able to try this French restaurant for brunch in downtown Des Moines while visiting some friends.Ambience: Modern French ChicService: Very good! They just forgot to bring spoons with coffee. View: Gorgeous view of the Pappajohn's Art Park.Food: Great selection of seafood, country French to fine-dining French cuisine. We tried the duck fat fries. They were a little difficult to eat, because they were so small. They were also a little soggy from the duck fat. So it made it even more difficult to try to dip it in the sauces, or try to dip several of them with a fork into the sauces.I also tried the seafood biscuits and gravy. I knew I was trying something a little unusual. It was pretty good, I just wish it had had a little more gravy for the giant biscuits it was served with.We were a little surprised by the green color of the Crepes Lorraine, but had we read closer they did describe them as spinach crepes.I would definitely return to try their croque madame.

Sweet place. Great ambiance, great food and great service. A little pricey but you do get what you pay for. I liked the jazz music in the background too. Perfect place for a dinner date. Definitely recommend.
